Certified Power Platform Evangelist

Learning about Power Platform and it’s capabilities has dramatically changed my life, for the better i might add, as this has opened doors that I thought not possible just a few years ago.

Before my career as a Power Platform evangelist at Innofactor I had what many would consider an exiting job, as it literarily took me all over the world, I was a Global Service Enginner, as ABB Machine called us. How ever as I would discover, this was not for me, all the time spent waiting on all kind of things was slowly driving me mad. How ever, what I did love about me job was meeting all the people and solving all the problems that they had (to the best of my ability).

After some time working at my new company, Yara Marine Technologies, I soon discovered that they badly needed a Customer Service system. What I found was that Dynamics 365 seemed to be the application we needed, as it had all the different aspects a growing business might need, from Sales to Project delivery, so when the opportunity presented it self with Sales wanting a better system than Excel, I went to work. During this time I found my love for Power Platform.

Mapping out a process and then creating the technical support it needs is such a fantastic feeling, it mimics the feeling a got when working on-site solving problems, that it turns in to an addiction almost.

This blog is going to pay tribute to all the exiting discoveries I have made during my four exiting years working with the Power Platform along with stuff I wanted to try but no customer has yet to request. I’m not going to talk about how I was able to make this journey in as shoot time as I have, let’s just say I have spent countless evenings and weekends learning and testing to get where I’m

Short resume of projects:

  • Dynamics 365 Sales – Implemented 6 times at different customers from smal Swedish based customers to international businesses with Billions of dollars in revenue
  • Dynamics 365 Customer Service – Implemented 3 times as will on a variety of customers
  • Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation – only once, and I can’t say that I recommend people doing that, it only fits a very specific customer.
  • Power Apps – Implemented at 2 customers. One was an 8 month project creating a Business plan configuration and goal follow-up system with Power BI reports. This customer was also thought during the implementation process.
  • Power BI – Implemented at 2 customers, created many different reports with embedded canvas apps.
  • Power Automate – This is my favorit tool in Power Platform and I use it with every customer. Here we find the biggest time savers.
  • Dataflows – Used to make integration with a wide variety  of sources. Here we use Power Query to do the Export, Transformation and loading (ETL) of the data into Dataverse.
  • Dataverse – Creating complete data model from scratch with Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD).
